River birch

River birch is a semi-aquatic tree. It likes moist, fertile soil and prefers full sun, but will grow in part shade. River birch will produce surface roots, especially on wet or clay soils. These trees grow to a height of 40 to 70 feet tall on average, but can reach a height of 90 feet.
