The nuttall oak is one of the most well-adapted oaks for general landscape use. It grows to a mature height of 40 to 60 feet and a spread of 35 to 50 feet. Full sun is the ideal condition for this tree. Nuttall oak grows in acidic, loamy, moist, wet, well-drained, and clay soils. It is moderately drought-tolerant.
