Eastern white pine is an evergreen that makes an excellent ornamental tree. It grows best in fertile, moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soil with full sun. It tolerates some shade but prefers full sun. It is a fast-growing tree, reaching 50 to 80 feet tall.
