Chestnut oak

Chestnut oak is a member of the white oak group and is noted for its ability to survive on steep, rocky sites where other oaks cannot. This tree is often used as a shade tree for large areas. It prefers full sun and dry, well-drained soil. The chestnut oak can attain a height of 60 to 70 feet with a similar spread.
