Swamp milkweed

Swamp Milkweed grows 3 to 4 feet tall on branching stems. Small, fragrant, pink to mauve flowers appear in tight clusters (umbels) at the stem. Flowers are followed by attractive seed pods that split open when ripe, releasing silky-haired seeds easily carried by the wind.
