Rattlesnake master

Rattlesnake master is a perennial forb that can reach a mature height of 5 feet. This plant thrives in full sun and can grow in a wide range of soil types, but usually moist sites are best. In the 1700s, the rattlesnake master's sap was said to be preventative to snake bites. However, the rattlesnake master is used in current times as an ornamental plant and not used for medicinal purposes.
